When you are working in any kind of a group setting have you ever wondered what it would take to get the very best from each individual in the group?
It doesn’t matter what kind of group it is, whether it be a working group such as the people at the office you work with every day, a group that comes together for a specific reason or most importantly, your family, we all innately want the group to be the most functional. So how can we get the best out of the group?
Here are some tips that can be very helpful that you can implement without even having to tell anyone.
- Make sure when you are going to interact with others, make sure you have grounded yourself emotionally so that you can be open to the interactions
- If you have thoughts that are taking your focus from the interactions, write them down or deal with them before attempting to focus on the other person
- Remember yourself in the interaction. You lessen your value if you do not input your needs in the transaction.
- Keep focused on the person who is talking in the group. Allow yourself to be open to what they are attempting to communicate without judging.
- Remember to breathe and keep yourself open.
- Remember that each of the persons in the group are dealing with “like” issues to your situation. Give them the space to deal with them.
- Recognize that we each are powerful members of the universal consciousness and deserve recognition as such.
If you find that your energy is low before or while having an interaction, you can ground yourself by doing the following steps:
- As you take a deep belly breath, raise your hands up above your head.
- As you exhale forcefully bring your hands down to your sides keeping your hands parallel to the ground
- As you breathe out, visualize you are pushing your breath into the earth.
If you need more clarity or to lift your energy, visualize a golden cloud of energy around you. The golden energy interacts with your own energy field raising its intensity.
My friend, Marnie Hancock suggests that if you find another person is seemingly low in energy, visualize them immersed in a golden cloud or send them golden energy in the form of golden discs, cookies, paper airplanes, etc. Be open to how they choose to receive the energy, it is up to them. Just send the energy with an open heart.
These exercises only take a couple of seconds. Do not prolong them.
A special note for dealing with children: Children are people too and need to be treated as such. Allow them to speak and be heard. However, children, especially young ones, need to have healthy boundaries placed on their lives. We are in their lives to guide them, therefore we sometimes need to support them by helping them to communicate with respect for themselves and others. Pay attention to how the little ones communicate. If they are speaking in a disrespectful manner, recognize that they do not feel safe. It is the safety issue we need to deal with, the communication problem is secondary.
If we consciously set up an environment where they feel safe, loved and respected, they will communicate respectfully. Send them lots of golden light. They love it.
It may sound odd to work with visualizing energy but if you take the chance and try it, you will be amazed at how well and quickly it works. And you don’t have to be a great visualizer, just believe!
The most successful communication comes without words.
